Golden Christmas

This year I decided to update the Christmas tree. For years, I had collected snowmen and had a very country Christmas look. I wanted a more elegant look this year to go with my new dining room furniture.

My Little Shopping Spree

Last Friday I could stand it no longer! I just had to go treasure hunting. I sure had a great time and found some wonderful new treasures to add to my home.

I found this adorable Shabby Chic lamp at Goodwill for just a few dollars. I love the boa trim around the lampshade. I found a set of three little french mirrors that all have different frames. I am going to make a little area just of my gilded frames.

I discovered a beautiful flower arrangment, that had some of my bedroom's palette, so I bought it and then added some additional stems of my own. I think it just has an antique feel to it.

I found this gorgeous runner at La Boutique. It goes all they way across my dresser and has thick buillion fringe on the ends. Adds a bit of elegance to my room.

I just love, love, LOVE tassels don't you. I bought a pair to hang off the toppers of my bedroom lampshades.

This is a little close up view of my little petite mirrors.

I collect all types of ironstone. Mostly Johnson Brothers, but generally if it is cute and speaks to me it can come home. I thought this was darling and plan on using it for Thanksgiving for our cranberry sauce.

Dipsydoodle Decor

Here are some pictures from my Dipsydoodle House. Most of these goodies I found at La Boutique (Goodwill). I am such a treasure hunter.

I love dishes! I like frou frou dishes, and I also like pottery dishes!

This beautiful light fixture was another great find at la Boutique!

~*~ Another Beautiful Day in the Mountains ~*~

Yes, it is so pretty outside. I would say it is almost 70 degrees. Where am I? Inside trying to add pictures to this blog. Oh dear, I can already see that this could be a tad bit addicting. First I told myself only an hour, hmmm that has been about 3 hours ago. Truly I will get my little fanny off the computer and outside. I do need to head to the grocery store, need to work more in the flower beds, do need to some laundry, do need to do some scrapbooking. What I would like to do is go to La Boutique and discover some treasures. As you will notice in the my pictures once I get them loaded is that I have white walls. Sad, yes I know! We live on base and I decided that I wouldn't paint this house, I would save my money for the French Country house we are going to build. If you paint your walls you have to paint them back to white when you leave. I can think of lots of other things to do with my time than paint and repaint since this is only temporary! Only 8 more months to go until we start on the house!

~ It's a Beautiful Fall Day

The sun is out and the sky is blue...nothing here to spoil the view! A very crispy morning when we walked to school. The sun was so nice to warm us as walked along the sidewalk. Molly went with us. I am trying to teach her to walk along side us without pulling on her leash and choking herself. I enjoy the walk to school if it isn't too cold. Today was just right, I was able to wear just a light sweater.
